Face book Cookies Tracking Users

According to the post of Australian Blogger and hacker, Nic Cubrilovic, Face book cookies were tracking users unconventionally, even after a user had logged out. Face book admitted it was collecting data from a network of approximately one million sites with the Face book plug in.

Massachusetts Democrat Ed Markey and Texas Republican Joe Barton, co-Chairs of the Congressional Bi-Partisan Privacy Caucus, sent a letter requesting that the FTC investigate Face book’s usage of tracking cookies.

In wall Street Journal article, Arturo Bejar, Face book’s Director of Engineering, stated that a full investigation and correction of the problem will be done soon in shortest possible time.

However, Cubrilovic blogged that Face book had addressed the issue and the tracking cookies were no longer collecting data after a user signed out.
